Coffee,

I've been nibbling too! Glad to add more at this price. Under 170 is going to be a steal shortly.

Picked up a starter block today with WLF profits. Opportunities like SNN don't come around that often.

I'm sure it will go lower now that I bought some Very Happy

If the analyst report comes out soon, I think these SNN prices will really look like a bargain in retrospect.

Proticker , Coach and the rest,

Congrats on SNN. Looking good so far. I haven't jumped in yet. Sometimes I sit on the fence too long. All the best.

Hi Shawn!

I have changed my stance several times on SNN. When I first presented the company to the goldbugs in Toronto, I cautioned the group to be very patient on the bid and let the sellers come to them. That worked for a few days but as the word on this company has begun spreading, there are more and more buyers chasing the stock. I have seen a very bearish market depth get taken out, day after day. So I shifted my own outlook and started hitting the offer myself, to make sure I have at least a starter position locked up, since I am very confident that this company will trade in double digits. I do not want to miss a big winner by being too cute on the bid.

However, if I look at the chart, I see that the action has been straight up since about 2 weeks ago. That kind of thing cannot continue indefinately, and for sure the onset of cheap paper in March will generate some sellers. So the potential for a short, steep correction is a very real possibility.

What makes it all complicated IMO is that I believe some bullish analyst coverage is going to factor in sometime in the near future. And I would not think it at all unlikely that SNN could move higher 50 cents in a day if one of the more popular advisory letters was screaming buy.

So it is a challenge to see through the near term action. There is a very strong arguement that can be made both for a run to even higher highs, or a steep correction. I would be much happier if SNN took a breather, corrected down slightly for a few days. Then perhaps I would not be looking for a severe correction in March.

All of the above chatter is simply my attempts to assist buyers into the stock without paying too much. I am very conscious of the fact that when I pound the table on a company, it tends to create a short term stampede into a stock, which is not always sustainable. I think SNN has all the goods to become a company with a $1 billion market cap or more. So whether one buys at $1.10 or $2 is not a terrible move either way if the stock is held through to my target price. But on the other hand, why rush into a stock and just pay off the people that are going to take profits the day after the IPO shares become free trading. The brokerage house involved in the IPO was granted broker warrants that will probably be dumped before the ink is dry. Traders holding big gains in just a short time will often trap themselves with stop loss orders, that can cascade a stock down quickly on thin volume. Witness OSK on several occasions last fall.

It is a very tricky game trying to pick the optimum levels to buy a good stock, without bearing too much risk that you will be left out on a big move. If people agree that it is a sure thing, then buy SNN now and enjoy the ride. But if you are trying to squeeze the most value for a purchase, take down a partial position and hope for a correction with stink bids. That is what I am doing.

cheers!

mike

Hi Coach!

Great find here and a delight to be on board at $1.30 and again today at $1.60 when the market opened. Your comments from a week ago suggest that you aren't convinced there will be a retracement in March:

Quote:
There is a large block of cheap paper from the IPO in December that will become free trading next month and that may allow for a buying opp. But I also expect to see a wave of buying interest coming into the market that may well absorb any shares that are dumped and then some.

Then I noticed your comment today:

Quote:
... I would expect a retracement down to $1.50 or so in March.

I hope I'm not taking your comments out of context. Actually I'm curious what happened in your outlook over the week that might have changed? Do you think there will be a diminished wave of buying interest from above $2 (where this stock appears to be headed for early March) to a 25% to 30% correction? To my thinking, that sounds a bit dramatic.

Given the strong likelihood of a $5 - $10 blue sky ahead over the next year or two, I can't help but imagine a market situation arising where a) a good number of investors in on that Dec IPO decide to hang onto their shares because they have an informed sense of what this company is worth and b) a wave of strong buying interest emerging given how this stock is held and traded.

Curious what you or others might have to say on this or other likely scenarios?

cheers!

Shawn

Hi Coach,

Bought 4,200 more at $1.44 or around $1.675 Can. If it runs continually I may trade ( only some ) above $2 on a possible pull back but if not I have total now 14,600 and will be content on sitting on this for now whichever way it goes. Comes to $1.068 usd average in 2 accounts. Was hard to decide with uranium ( GEM ) Gold Corp will see this project through and has plenty of good connections and joint venture with King. Love the story .

Hi Sonsx!

I didnt know about SNN when I wrote up my top picks list. I discovered the company at the Vancouver Cambridge show, and didnt really do my DD on it until mid-January, at which point I told the goldbugs and then started buying shares (in that order). I did not begin posting about the stock on the forum for another week or so after because I saw an overhang in the share price and I thought that people would just start buying like crazy and pay too much. But within a week I noticed that large blocks of stock on the offer were getting chewed through very quickly, a classic sign of accumulation, so I put the word out and started buying aggressively to at least get some stock.

If I had known about SNN in December, I would own 30,000 shares today and it would have been one of my top 5 picks. I only have 10,000 shares, and I hope to get the chance to buy more on a correction in March.

cheers!

mike

Hi Huck!

I do not recall off the top of my head how many shares were issued in the IPO in December, that will become free trading in March. However, I do know that a large chunk of that paper went to institutional players, so I doubt we are going to see much of it hitting the market. Some retail buyers for sure were part of the deal though so I would have that date on my calendar if I was going to shop for stink bid plays. Also, the stock is drawing close to overbought territory, FWIW. I would think that SNN is going to be trading above $2 by the time the IPO shares are free trading, and I would expect a correction down to $1.50 or so in March. I plan to be waiting with some lowball bids myself, but I have also decided to add all the shares I can get on the way up because I am bullish as hell on this story and think it will not only trade in line with OSK last year, but will eclipse the success for that company. High praise indeed, but lets see if I am on the ball this time...

cheers!

mike

Good Evening all - first post ever.

So many good things to say about this stock. Would like to buy it, but have to sell some of either v.FR, v.SAM or t.SEG. For each their own reasons, I like to keep each. Tough decisions, but this stock looks like it has tremendous potential.

Cheers, SPEAC

Hi Consalvo,
This was on Feb 9th. I looked up my trader in traders corner. But I had to go a penny above the ask. tight. Did you see my post below Coach's, I figured 9 million shares in the public float. He has lots less. either way and i take his way as more accurate , it is hard and will get lots harder IMO than today. this thing should fly. Always wanted a think float issue white hot and in demand. I am trying to buy more above the last trade ask. I have no problem paying lots more.
