not wanting to let another Nevada deposit slip through my fingers, decided to buy a starter position in KDX today. SVM took a swipe at it last year but failed. The ounces are high grade and look cheap to me. Could be a very likely TO target.....

I sold 25K shares of XAU last week taking advantage of a short term price gain - the market certainly does a thorough job of teaching one humility.

Vancouver, B.C., August 30, 2010 - Fronteer Gold Inc. ("Fronteer Gold") (TSX/NYSE Amex:FRG) and AuEx Ventures, Inc. ("AuEx") (TSX:XAU) announced today they have entered into an arrangement agreement under which Fronteer Gold will acquire 100% of the outstanding common shares of AuEx by way of a plan of arrangement.

I think GRC will eventually get taken over by PG; GRC being the minority partner in the Hardrock gold project in the Geraldon camp of Northern Ontario. GRC had a tremendous day today btw, up 53% on massive volume.

as noted on the BYV thread, this company looks like a logical takeover target - RR being the acquirer.....

Symbol HL
My favorite takeout candidate besed on cost of production per ounce of silve.
a major, any major seeks to lower cost of production in terms of ounces mined. This would certainly make production numbers of almost any acquirer look good.
I hold shares
thanks to all

I like this silver stock .. seesm good value to me.

Alot of the Ag stocks are looking like good value.....especially EPZ and AXR. The volatility in Ag is creating alot of buying opportunities.

Dirk,

I appreciated your call about Esperanza months ago.

What's your take now .... slipping incrementally in SP ... does that make them and even tastier take-over target?

I like this silver stock .. seesm good value to me.

TIA!

Dorinho

Hi Dorinho, I used to own shares in the company, but grew tired of waiting for improved operating results. I can't imagine that a senior producer would be interested in GOZ - perhaps a small producer looking to diversify? I believe Castle Gold was acquired in such a way.

Hi Dirk,

There has been chatter at Stockhouse that a takeover is "in" for Gold-Ore (GOZ.to). What's your take?

It has been capped in the mid-40's for an extended period ... hasn't moved much with Au up or down.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Dorinho

Do you get the sense that things are beginning to build steam on the consolidation front? BZO is the latest to go, this time at a 90% premium. It is with tremendous frustration to admit that I had BZO on my short list, and was looking for an entry when some analyst suddenly goosed it with a buy recomendation earlier this week. Damn!!!!

Jamie Horvat BUY Mansfield Minerals Inc. MDR-X 0.000 There needs to be more consolidation in the space. This one has had quite a bit of recovery. This has the potential to be taken out at some point. Added to position in the last week. 2010-05-11

Somewhere it was printed about the oil sands being desirable takeover candidates. One reason was the Gulf O Mex. disaster. looking at trading BQI, CLL, STP.V and AOS. These were mentioned. large cap oil conglomerates are on the prowl. How much better way to spend cash , then letting it sit and be inflated away while oil assets are growing in value.

Comment 17.320 Peter Hodson Just above its 1997 IPO price. Expect it will be a takeover company in the next 18 months. 2010-03-30
